Crestron One – Ready for the Oscars

If we had to give an Oscar to the best independent AV Manufacturer event, it would definitely go to Crestron One, an event held at Marina Bay Sands EXPO and Conventions Centre, Singapore on 27th February 2017. This is a closed invitation event for consultants, vendors, system integrators and other partners. ESCO is honoured to have been invited to this prestigous event.

We connected with Stuart Craig, CEO of Crestron Asia Pacific; Joel Mulpeter, Product Manager of Crestron Asia Pacific and Jess Warnock, Advance Technical Support of Crestron ANZ, who were the main drivers of this event, co-assisted by Crestron Singapore.

Showcasing an impressive solutions deployment, Crestron presented the full range of products coupled with exciting enhancements on their latest release. Which, in some cases are products that have yet to be launched in the market. It was evident that Crestron aims to be at the top of the competition.

During the event, the Digital Media system was revealed to come with full support for 4K resolution at 60fps; Touch Screens with improved touch response; a 4K MultiWindow video Processor that is able to display up to 4 windows on a single screen; the Avia family of digital sound processors; amplifiers and ceiling speakers, surface mount; the digital media NVX series AV over network solution; and new Crestron Mercury, the UCC solution for meeting rooms.

There are undoubtedly too many updates to mention in one article, so here are the top highlights:

Avia DSP’s

A full series of Digital Sound Processors from basic to the most demanding DSP required for integration, with USB audio, Dante audio over network and Acoustic Echo Cancellation making this ideal for conferencing, etc.

Digital Media NVX

Video streaming encoder and decoder over standard 1Gb network, unicast or multicast, 4K at 60fps and 4:4:4 HDR Video, built-in scaler, auto-switching, web based control and management.

Crestron Studio

New software programming environment for Crestron programmers seeking to make Crestron programming easier, faster while minimising potential programming bugs. This is ideal for freelance Crestron programmers or System integrators like us.

Crestron Mercury

Special mention for this product as the spotlight of this event. It is a game changing Meeting Room Solution that comes with full open SIP conference phone, built-in Air Media for wireless presentation, integration with room scheduling, built-in microphone and speakers, audio pairing with mobile phones via Bluetooth. All of which can be managed via network and supports any web collaboration application with built-in occupancy sensor. Without doubt, this is a little jewel which can become indispensable in any meeting room.

In addition, the strategic partnership between Crestron with Microsoft was brought up at this event. For example, the Crestron RL is a conferencing solution that was created as a collaborative effort between Crestron and Microsoft. We should expect even more solutions being introduced as part of Crestron’s portfolio with Microsoft in the future.

With these new solutions and products, Crestron makes a stronger contender as the number one AV manufacturer in the global market.
