Polycom Studio Review – Unified Communications & Collaboration Solutions

The new Polycom Studio video bar is compatible with the market’s leading soft codec solutions such as Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom. Connected via USB, it works seamlessly and effortlessly with any video platform.

Research shows that by 2020, 70% of all conference meetings will take place in huddles spaces. With the entry of the video bar, Polycom provides users with an all in one solution for high quality, business class video conferencing capabilities.

The Studio boasts a 120 degree FOV, with 2160p UHD capture resolution, along with in built speakers that are AEC and noise suppression enabled. The 6 beam forming microphones also provide impressive 12ft pick up range that is backed up with Polycom’s own NoiseBlock technology.

One of the unique features of this product is the speaker tracking capabilities. Unlike any other devices in the market, the Polycom Studio comes with voice tracking, which will automatically seeks out the current active speakers and places them nicely in frame. The tracking speed and picture framing can all be adjusted via Polycom’s UC desktop software. Furthermore, end users can either choose to have their speaker tracking enabled or disabled and whether they want the picture framing to be wide, tight or neutral.

Just like the other Polycom devices, the Polycom Studio can be remotely managed via wifi, making deployment and management much easier when scaling.
